In the past December, 31 2020 a horrible action occurred in the trough of Sharda in the district of Pratapgarh, India, 12 people, of which 3 have been arrested, hit a dolphin, which is in danger of extinction, until death.
The action shows total brutality and insensitivity, and make us think about the real possibilities we have as mankind to get along with the mother nature, because millions of people in the world hurt the animals and generate damage to the nature.
We could think that these things just occur in third world countries, and also that the majority of societies who look for to defend animals and protect nature are in the first world countries, and that these attitudes are weird to see.
But that is not the reality, the worst thing of all, and that proves that we the humans haven’t learned to respect the nature, is that in first world countries with a very high ranked quality of life we can see terrible facts and practices.
For example, in Canada, in the east coast, 300000 seals are sacrificed each year with the authorization of the Canadian Government, under the pretext to protect other marine species, but enviromental societies believe it is done to produce certain products and to market them.
In Japan, each year in Taiji, 20000 dolphins are killed, the Japanese Government and the fishers say this is part of the japanese culture and they try to hide it to the rest of japanese, the main reasons to do this is for the meat production and to have them in captivity for the aquariums and water parks.
In Faroe Islands (Denmark) there’s a tradition called «Grindadráp», in which hundreds of whales die each year, the Danish Government affirms that this is not an annual event, it occurs in many moments in the year and this is to feed all the population.
Also in countries like France, Iceland and Norway we can see these practices which is very worrying.
We all have to look for information, to don’t buy products of this meat, to show this to all the people we can, and also the NGO’s and international organizations have to do a hard work to make a campaign for the people in all the world to collaborate together to stop this, also the international organizations could push the countries to stop these practices.
Unfortunately, the animal abuse is generalized in all the world, even we can see the exotic specie’s traffic, and if we remember it was the cause of why the 2020 pandemic appeared, and also it was the cause of the appearance of many sicknesses before, so we have to start looking the nature and us like an everything, and to think that if we want to be respected we have to respect the nature too.
